Compassionate Cooking with The Mindful Palate

  • Christ Church Episcopal, Whitefish Bay 5655 North Lake Drive Whitefish Bay, WI, 53217 United States

Toddlers and Kids on a Mission is partnering for the first time with The Mindful Palate! This all-ages cooking class will be a fun weekend activity for you and your child and it will also bring hunger relief to our Milwaukee neighbors. We’ll discuss soup-making techniques then prepare a large batch of vegetarian soup which will be donated to a local meal program.

PURPOSE: Cook food for individuals suffering from food insecurity. Allow children to use their culinary talents to act with compassion and selflessness towards others.

IMPACT: Children and their caregivers will learn to prepare a healthy meal for their families. They will also provide 12 gallons of freshly prepared soup to the St. Vincent de Paul Meal Program at All People's Church in the Harambee neighborhood.

ACTIVITIES: We will meet with Chef Annie Wegner LeFort for a cooking class. Participants will end the class with soup and bread for a late lunch. A handout with recipes is included.
