Last year, several local service groups banded together to bring Dr. Erin Winkler to Whitefish Bay for a parenting session on talking to children about race. Now, we are continuing this conversation in April with more collaborative components. We invite you all to join in on this worthwhile evening.
PURPOSE: To sit with other adults interested in finding effective ways of talking about a hard but necessary conversation.
IMPACT: Equipped with more tools after this event, adults will be able to go back to their students or children and give them kid friendly tools to act in just ways at home and school and in their community.
ACTIVITIES: The evening will include true, personal stories from Ex Fabula fellows, community members who have worked with storytelling coaches to craft personal stories about race, privilege and oppression. You'll also have the opportunity to share your own observations and practice new skills in small group listening circles directed by Zeidler Center facilitators.
WHEN AND WHERE: April 3, 5-8pm 5655 N Lake Drive (street parking)
Questions: Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or see the discussion on the Facebook event.
