This will be our second year participating with Interfaith’s Fall Clean Up on Make a Difference Day on Saturday, November 11th. We will be assisting elderly individuals in the Harambee Neighborhood prepare their yards for winter. We are hoping to connect with one of the same homeowners from last year’s event and also make a new connection in the same neighborhood.
Purpose: We will help two elderly homeowners ease into the winter season by assisting with yard work. In addition, our children will get the opportunity to see the results of their efforts. (Enjoying the beautiful fall weather and allowing the kids to burn off extra energy will be a bonus, as well!)
Impact: We hope that all of the children participating will see that hard work pays off and that they too can have an impact on the lives of Milwaukee’s most vulnerable.
Activities: We will be doing yard work that may include raking, trimming bushes and pulling weeds. A snack will be shared, as well. We understand the attention of each child is different - so rest breaks and socializing with their peers is encouraged to make this a meaningful but FUN day!
When and where: Exact addresses will be given once registration is complete for the sake of confidentiality. Event will take place the 9:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, November 11th.
