For Parents: Poverty Simulation

For our November Leadership and Board Meetings, we are leaving the planning aside for some educational time for us. We have some spots open and we would like to ask any interested parents to join us!

WHERE & WHEN: Wednesday, November 1, 6:30-8:30pm at Gigi's Playhouse Milwaukee 8685 N Port Washington Rd Fox Point, WI

DESCRIPTION:

The Milwaukee-based organization, Just Ministries, will facilitate "Shattered: A Poverty Simulation Experience." From their website:

Shattered is a unique, interactive experience designed to help communities understand poverty. The simulation allows for individuals to experience what it is like to live below the poverty line. Participants will confront the choices and challenges people in poverty face on a daily basis and will be given an opportunity to reflect on the harsh realities of poverty. Most importantly, it encourages people to make a difference.
Just Ministries aim is for participants to leave with a better understanding of the causes and struggles of poverty and to provide practical steps that people can take to help to make a difference in their own communities.

Please email Jean by October 27 if you plan on attending (jean@toammke.org).
